Location: Intelligence Facilities

The intelligence facilities of the Archlight were incredible, not necessarily vastly superior to the Lukari; the tricky thing was that at this moment, all of this was useless to her. Actually, she was surprised she had access to just the facilities, "....this is gonna take some realignment," she muttered to herself, just as she heard the doors swish open.
A low chuckle came from the doorway as the doors finished their slide open. “You’re not the first one to say that,” Frost remarked, stepping into the intelligence suite with a datapad tucked under his arm. “Half the crew still swears the Archlight’s systems run a psychological profile before they even let you access the main display.”
He gave her a knowing grin, the kind that said he’d fought his share of battles with the ship’s tech. “Don’t worry—once you and the system come to an understanding, it’ll feel like it’s reading your mind. Until then…” he nodded toward the console, “try not to let it outsmart you.”
Meira was also still getting used to being around all of these humans, not in a bad way, but either way, she had to do her job to do, "it is alright the Lukari are used to dealing with systems like this, but my access is still being processed, and I believe needs to be signed off by you, as you are the ships captain, "I am Kaelir, I believe your equivalent of an lieutenant Meira Kaal, intelligence officer," the purple-skinned Lukair said quickly. "Also, your security measures should be upgraded, as no one should be able to just walk into this room like I did before my credentials and orders were reviewed and accepted," she added.
Frost straightened from the console, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Lieutenant Kaal, noted — and I agree. Security shouldn’t be that easy to slip through, even for an intelligence officer with the best of intentions."
He crossed his arms, glancing around the compartment before returning his gaze to her.
"You’ll have my authorization by the next duty cycle. Archlight’s systems are... let’s say they have a personality of their own. You’ll find the integration process smoother once the system recognizes your command credentials."
A pause, then his tone softened slightly.
"And welcome aboard, Lieutenant. The Lukari have a reputation for precision and insight. I’d be a fool not to listen when one tells me my ship needs tighter security."
Meira nodded, finding this all to be a bit odd, "thank you, captain, and you should have the computer looked at. They have one task to support us, not the other way around," Meira said, pulling out her unique-looking PaDD, a thin, translucent holo-interface directly from a slim metal frame, activated by touch or gesture. The image shows someone interacting with a multi-layered holographic UI featuring green luminescent elements — data blocks, icons, and scrolling telemetry.
"If there is nothing else, I'll return to my quarters until I gain access, I am unable to do my duties," she said simply.
Jonathan Frost nodded slightly, the corner of his mouth twitching at her blunt assessment of the ship’s computer.
"Noted, Lieutenant. You’re not wrong — sometimes these systems seem to think they outrank us," he said dryly, before turning his attention to the nearest holo-console.
"Computer, authorize Lieutenant Meira Kaal, Intelligence Division, full operational access to the Archlight’s primary intelligence and data systems — authorization Frost-Alpha-Seven-Nine."
A soft chime confirmed the order. Frost glanced back at her, his tone firm but with a trace of warmth.
"There. You should have full clearance now. And I’ll have Engineering run a diagnostic on the AI protocols — last thing I need is another self-aware subsystem deciding it knows better than command."
He stepped aside, gesturing toward the corridor.
"Get settled, Lieutenant Kaal. Once you’re fully synced into the network, we’ll debrief. Archlight can be... temperamental, but she’s worth the effort. Again, welcome aboard."
