Mission:
First Light
Location: Diplomatic Suite
The suite is intentionally quiet and softly luminous, designed to promote clarity, neutrality, and reflective thought. Unlike typical officer quarters, a diplomatic suite is built to feel non-territorial and culturally adaptive—a sanctuary between negotiations, a controlled environment for centering the mind. The diplomatic suite was not much bigger than that of an officer; it was, in fact, closer to the quarters of a senior officer.
The young diplomat was still getting used to this life; hell, she wasn't planning on being assigned to the flagship of a fleet, or whatever this 'Project' was. Two things went with her wherever the Corps took her: those were a Trill spiron fern and a dark violet chime sphere. She used it for emotional grounding exercises as she continued to learn about her Betazoid abilities.
"....and how are you settling in? I know this is a significant change and challenge, as this is your first assignment that is not somewhere familiar." The older Trill doctor said, watching the young hybrid float about her new living space, that the young hybrid had done a good job of creating a safe space.
The young hybrid didn't know how she felt; all of her other assignments were training assignments, allowing her to learn, and, like the doctor said, familiar places. Now, she was on a flagship as a junior diplomat, serving very, very far away from anything she truly knew. "....honestly, I don't know, I mean it has only been a day, no two days," she said, shaking her head as she touched her choker.
The older doctor just smiled, "deep breaths, and remember your mantras," she added, "and you'll be fine," the doctor seeing the young hybrid as one of her own children, especially after hearing and seeing how her two families have treated her. "I am sorry, Liriane, but I have to go. I have some patients, but I'll check in later, yes," the doctor said, giving her another soft smile.
"Of course, and thank you for checking in, Doctor Shora," the young hybrid said, returning the smile, but not really believing in it. Just as the call ended, the chime on her door sounded. "Enter," Liriane called out, forgetting that she was wearing a lovely, muted mustard yellow long, oversized knit sweater that fell to mid-thigh, made of a soft, breathable Betazoid-style fiber blend.
She was also wearing simple, knee-high, soft, fuzzy socks in muted grey, while her hair fell naturally, slightly tousled, with a few waves tucked behind one ear. It’s effortless, gentle, and intimate in its simplicity. "Oh, I, um...I can come back later," the young crewman said as she stepped in and spotted the young diplomat in what looked like very comfy socks and a sweater.
"No, no, please come in, I was just getting my living space comfortable," Liriane said with a smile as she spun, revealing simple white cotton panties. But she also forgot that she was wearing socks, and as she spun, she lost her balance and quickly crashed onto her ass.
"Oh, oh, no, are, are you okay?" the crewman said as she quickly rushed to aid the lieutenant.
The young hybrid just laughed. She was in slight pain as she landed pretty hard on her ass. "Yes, yes, I am fine. I just forgot that I was wearing socks, and who are you?" Liriane asked that very little be given to her in terms of orders or information on who would be joining her from the Corps.
"Oh, sorry, I am Alyra Kassim-Tareh, yeoman for the command team, while also working on becoming a diplomatic corpsman and crewman," she said with a soft smile, holding her hand out to help her up. "I was told I would be able to get some mentorship once the diplomatic team arrived," the crewman said again with a smile.
{Mentorship, hell, I still need mentorship,} "...well, I am more than glad to help, but I am just a junior diplomat, um, and well, I also don't know who else from the Corps is being assigned here, I would assume a senior diplomat will be assigned here, and will most likely take on your mentorship," the young hybrid said giving the yeoman a soft smile.
"....oh yes of course, I didn't mean to, to I guess demand, it was just mentioned to me, when I got this posting that it was a possibility," Alyra said, adjusting her glasses. "Anyways, I just wanted to come down and introduce myself, and to let you know if you needed any help, please let me know," she said with a smile, and with that, the cute young yeoman turned and left the junior diplomat.
The young hybrid chuckled slightly as she watched the young enlisted; she reminded her of herself just a few years ago, which again felt like a lifetime ago. "....maybe this'll be my home," she muttered, knowing that was what she was looking for, as Trill and Betazed were, and weren't at the same time.
